IXPDB Snapshot System

Peak traffic and participants at Internet Exchange Points that publish live data through IXPDB, by region and IXP.

All data on this page comes from IXPDB and the IXPs that participate in it. Only IXPs publishing live data through IXPDB are counted, so these totals understate each region. Run an IXP that isn't counted here? Add it to IXPDB and it will appear in the next daily snapshot.

Add your IXP to IXPDB

Listing your IXP in IXPDB takes five steps:

  1. Prepare an IX-F Member Export. This is a JSON file describing your IXP and its members; the format is documented in the IX-F JSON schemas on GitHub. If you use IXP Manager, all you need to do is take note of the correct export URL for your IXP by following these instructions.
  2. Check that it works with the IXPDB Validation Tool.
  3. Prepare your traffic export API (optional). This lets your traffic be counted as well as your participants. If you use IXP Manager, this is easy to do via the Grapher API.
  4. Ask for an IXPDB account. Email support@ixpdb.freshdesk.com to get your IX-F ID number and login details.
  5. Add your export URLs to IXPDB. Log in to IXPDB and add your IX-F Member Export and (optionally) traffic API URLs to your IXP's profile.

Once your IXP is publishing live data through IXPDB, it will appear here starting from the next daily snapshot.
